Daylight-saving rules are applied by your browser for the selected zones. Ambiguous clock-change times may need confirmation. Nothing is uploaded.

What is a time zone converter?

A time zone converter translates a specific local date and time from one place into the equivalent time somewhere else. It is helpful when arranging international meetings, calling friends or family abroad, planning travel, scheduling an online event or checking when a deadline occurs in another region. Choose the date and time, select the starting city or region and choose the destination to see the converted result.

This tool uses the time-zone data built into your browser. The date and time you enter stay on your device and are not uploaded. It supports a practical list of major world cities and regions across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.

How to use the time zone converter

  • Select the local date and clock time you want to convert.
  • Choose the city or time zone where that time applies in the From menu.
  • Choose the destination city or time zone in the To menu.
  • Read the converted day, date, time and time-zone abbreviation.
  • Use Swap zones to reverse the direction quickly.

For example, choose a 9:00 AM time in New York and convert it to London to find the corresponding London meeting time on that date. The date matters: a conversion can cross midnight, which means the destination can be on the previous or following day.

How the conversion handles daylight saving time

Time zones are not always a fixed number of hours from UTC. Many regions move clocks forward or backward on different dates, and some places do not use daylight saving time at all. The converter treats your input as a local time in the selected source zone, finds the matching moment in UTC, then formats that same moment in the destination zone.

Because it uses the browser's internationalization data, the applicable seasonal offset is chosen for the date you enter. Clock changes can create unusual cases: a local time may occur twice when clocks go back, or not occur at all when clocks go forward. The browser applies its standard interpretation in those cases, so confirm an important appointment with the other participant.

Why convert a specific date and time?

Looking only at a current time difference can be misleading when a meeting is weeks or months away. The relationship between two locations can change around daylight-saving transitions. Converting the exact planned date makes the result more useful and also highlights any date change at the destination. This tool is a planning aid, not a replacement for a calendar invitation that includes time-zone details. For critical travel, financial or legal deadlines, confirm the official time with the organization involved.

Frequently asked questions

Does the converter account for daylight saving time?

Yes. It uses your browser’s time-zone data and applies the seasonal offset for the specific date and selected regions.

Why can the converted date be different?

Two locations may be many hours apart. A conversion near midnight can fall on the previous or following calendar day at the destination.

What happens during a clock change?

When clocks move forward or back, a local time can be skipped or repeated. The browser applies its standard interpretation, so confirm important times separately.

Are my dates and times uploaded?

No. The conversion runs locally in your browser. Your entered date, time and chosen zones are not uploaded by this tool.
