What is a case converter?
A case converter changes the capitalization style of text without changing its words. It is useful when a heading is all caps, a sentence was pasted in the wrong style or a list needs consistent formatting. How to convert text case
- Type or paste text into the main box.
- Choose uppercase, lowercase, title case, sentence case or another style.
- Review the converted text in the same editor.
- Copy the result, keep editing it or clear the box to begin again.
Each conversion applies to the entire current text, including multiple lines. Uppercase turns letters into capitals, lowercase turns them into small letters, and title case capitalizes the first letter of each word. Sentence case lowercases the text and capitalizes the start of each sentence. Capitalized case also starts every word with a capital, while alternating and inverse case are useful for playful or stylized text.
When text case matters
Consistent capitalization makes writing easier to scan and more professional. Title case is often used for headings, page titles and names. Sentence case is common in paragraphs, interface labels and descriptive copy. Uppercase can add emphasis, but large blocks of all-capital text are harder to read. Lowercase is useful when normalizing data, tags, usernames or code-related values.
